Was it only a short moment in time when some of us tried to make a change by giving up the post-industrial mindset that destroyed the simplicity of living; the dream of a sustainable community?

As a creative individual, with skills in many areas, I am at times, too open-minded for this compartmentalized world. I agree with sustainability; conservation is good thing, when balanced with realistic and attainable goals.

To me, this means having electricity, warm beds, dry floors, healthy food, occasional online access, labor to keep from growing flabby, books & periodicals, intelligent conversation and above all, purposeful communal cooperation, as well as a location free from blizzards, hurricanes, shopping malls and malaria.

I have sent introductions to a number of communities and received a small, few replies. A few individuals have contacted me, some with similar desires, goals and dreams.

To work to survive, to assist, to teach and to learn, that should be the result. Not individually, but in an environment where you are rewarded beyond personal satisfaction; with positive change for all.

I have assets in reserve and much choice, but I am growing stagnant, literally and figuratively. I am forty-something, positive, healthy, freethinking, tolerant, clean, stable and mature, with no obligations.

"You may say, I'm a dreamer..."

I'm looking for a survivilist type community that thinks that the U.S. Government is on the brink of collaspe. This community can't be one of those gun toting, shoot 'em up branch davidians on the one hand but it also can't be one of those politicaly correct, femminist dominated communities on the other.Somewheres in between would be just fine for me. So if anybody out there knows of one that fit my description please let me know.Thank you

I am a 26 year old male seeking a self-sustainable community where no monthly fee is required, but only hard work. I am currently volunteering at the local farm to acquire some basic organic farming skills. My ideal is naturally to join the appropriate community for me. I prefer a community that is progressive in their ideals, although I am generally open-minded and accepting of those who are likewise the same. I have a certain disdain for the corporate world and seek a group of like-minded people who are non-conforming, despise labels and could care less about the needs of CEO's. Wholesome organic foods (preferably RAW) is a must for me :). I love the peace that I feel when I'm out in the field weeding underneath the sunshine and breathing in fresh air. Adding that along with a tightly knit community of accepting individuals would be as close to a utopia as I could ever envision.

Life becomes ever increasingly stagnant when it suddenly dawns on you that the material world erected by an oligarchical madhouse is nothing short of illusory. My questioning of this began in my early teens of which I am delighted to have been enlightened at such an age. Of course, finding the correct environment where the non-conforming progressive's reside is absolutely essential to break through this plateau.

Do contact me whether you are seeking community or are seeking new members. I'd like to network with as many individuals with the same underlying passion for interconnectedness.

Hi ! I m an active, easy-going 62 year old woman, originally from New Orleans who is very eco-minded. I m seriously seeking an ic, preferrably one that may have already found the land, r in the process of being close to that stage, to build a small, as off the grid as possible home in, but also possibly open to a shared housing arrangement, as well. I enjoy writing, art, music, n cooking & gardening. I would love to hear from u, as to what your particular project r plan 4 community is. I m open to new ideas, n to many areas, especially those with a more seasonal climate. I m also considering locales outside of the usa as well. I m up 4 a new adventure, n enjoy like-minded friends, n being part of a team effort ! Blessings Beaucoup, Cecilia
